Joe is a Movement specialist with a passion for helping people move and function better for pain relief, specific sport/activities, and general health/fitness goals.
Joe grew up in Southern Virginia (Southampton County) and found his way to Northern Virginia after attending college at Virginia Tech. At Virginia Tech he studied exercise and health promotion focusing on kinesiology and nutrition.
Upon graduating he started working as a personal trainer at Life Time Fitness. The desire to learn more and help clients further led to getting certified as a Pilates instructor. This started his appreciation for movement and wanting to understand the body deeper. Years later his search led him to the Gray Institute and their teachings.
Founded by world renowned physical therapists Gary Gray and Dave Tiberio, the Gray Institute mentors professionals from around the world in a 40 week intensive program certifying them in FAFS and FMR. This program goes through every joint in the body from nose to toes and explains how each affect one another and muscles attached.
Coined "Chain Reaction Biomechanics," this understanding goes as deep as explaining how improper foot striking can cause issues all the way up the chain and present pain in areas like the hip, back, neck and shoulder.
Utilizing FMR, Joe can provide feedback to the body and guide specific joints and segments to optimal sequencing helping restore correct movement/biomechanics and promote healing.
If you have been dealing with chronic pain, looking to improve sport performance, or just want to move and function better, Joe would love to help.
